A new Thunderous Cookie Club Romance

Valerie Mann is adding to the Cookie Club world with her amazing Thunderstruck,

Between her part-time job as a preschool teacher for the local coven children, and proud new owner of the Blessed Bee bakery, Tamsin Riley has no time for anything but the occasional catnap and an organic power bar. Finding The One isn’t on her radar, and that’s perfectly fine. He’d never be able to keep up with her anyway.

As the illegitimate son of the thunder god Thor, Raiden Alexander has had his fair share of rejection, but never by the opposite sex. He likes the playboy lifestyle he’s cultivated for the last couple of centuries, and the last thing he’s interested in is settling down—unless it’s between a beautiful woman’s thighs. Becoming guardian of his four year-old nephew, Roman, puts a crimp in Raiden’s love life, but he can handle temporary abstinence for the kid’s sake. That is, until he meets Roman’s teacher.

Sparks fly and thunder rolls each time Tamsin and Raiden come near each other. But how long before lightning finally strikes…and what happens then?

I came I saw I made the Fudge and....

IT WAS GOOD!!!!!!!!!

I saw this on Facebook and decided to try it...I can't make candy to save my life. Much like my character Rowena (but I can bake). Anyway I made this and it's simple and easy and yes its Way YUMMY!!!!!!!

Here is the Recipe from ALLRECIPE.COM  http://allrecipes.com/recipe/fudge/detail.aspx

3 cups semisweet chocolate chips

Directions

  1. Place chocolate chips, sweetened condensed milk, and butter or margarine in large microwaveable bowl. Zap in microwave on medium until chips are melted, about 3-5 minute, stirring once or twice during cooking. Stir in nuts, if desired.
  2. Pour into well-greased 8x8-inch glass baking dish. Refrigerate until set.

While you are waiting for it to set check out my book.

HOT BURNING LOVE

Rowena may be the best witch of her generation when it comes to crystals and their healing power but keep her far away from the oven. No matter how hard she tries there is no way to break a curse decades old that prevents her from baking anything at all. And she as well as her five witch friends have tried it all. So every month a cookie club time she buys her cookies to the thankful cheers of the others.
Caine has fantasized about Rowena and her curves since they met years ago while she visited her best friend at the college they both attended. When a job opportunity comes up in her home town it’s too much of a temptation to resist. After all when you want something for so long there comes a time a man just has to go for it.
When passion flames between them can love fight the dark magic swirling around them determined to break them or will the fires that burn in the kitchen burn them as well.

Now Available Sensual Delights by Kate Richards

Hannah Prynne, proprietor of Sensual Delights, small-town purveyor of fine bath and body products has just about everything she needs to be happy. Her business is growing, as is her daughter, Pansy, and she’s achieving some success as regaining her family’s ancestral magic. Her single foray into romance ended with the guy bailing the second she learned she was pregnant. So she’s a little lonely. She’ll just avoid her sexy new neighbor and rely on her childhood friends. They may be far away but they always have her back.

Jerrin Stryder’s lineage reaches all the way back to Merlin, jet-setting wizards who have more money and magic than they know what to do with. And an attitude to match. In an effort to find real happiness, Jerrin takes on a “normal” magic-free life in a ramshackle fixer-upper…next door to Hannah, who isn’t quite the “normal” woman he thinks she is.

Can a witch with a desire for power and a wizard attempting to flee it find happiness in one another’s arms? The sparks are there, if they only let them burst into flame.

Excerpt:

All her cookie club girlfriends had waxed enthusiastic at her description of the neighbor with his dark hair, dark eyes, and enticing body. And when she whispered the news that he was standing in the window, looking over at her house—while she sat in her nightgown, chatting with them—they encouraged her to stop chatting and wave him over.

The house had been vacant so long, she hadn’t even thought of anyone being able to see her from there—but she hadn’t moved or pulled the curtains.

Then he closed the blinds, and she breathed a sigh of relief and disappointment. Headed for the kitchen to make some jasmine tea.

I guess he went to bed. Flannel isn’t his thing.

She returned with her mug and froze. Half a dozen flimsy nighties and a thong lay scattered around the room. She broke into laughter, unable to stay pouty with such good friends.
Hannah lifted the tablet and tried to glower. “Who did this?”

As the girls chorused denial—at least one lying through her teeth—the thud of boots on the porch froze her mid-giggle. She tiptoed to peek through the peephole.

“He’s here, what should I do?”

One by one, her friends blinked out. They’d come back on and talk about her behind her back once she went offline. Bitches.

But they loved her, and they were right. A woman didn’t just ignore a handsome hunk who came to call—especially a woman five years out from her last sexual experience. Who ever said witches were sluts?

 She opened the door.

“Jerrin?” Halfway down the steps, he spun to face her. “Hi, did you need something?” A quickie maybe? With her mind made up, her only concern was keeping things quiet enough to not wake Pansy.

“I saw your light on and thought maybe you couldn’t sleep either.”

Not quite ten o’clock. Sure, insomnia is rampant when only farmers are in bed.

“I was just chatting online with some friends.” She stepped back, clearing the doorway. “Would you like to come in? Have a cup of jasmine tea?”

“Sure, if it’s not too much trouble.” Whiskey scented his breath. But he didn’t stumble or slur his words. Maybe he’d just had a drink since he couldn’t sleep. Old man’s hours indeed.

“No trouble at all. I made a whole pot. Make yourself comfortable, and I’ll get you a cup.” She scooted into the kitchen, her heart beating fast. Easy to be brave, when the man in question was outside, but now that he stood in her living room, could she go through with it?

 Not that he’d asked.

 What if he did?

 What if he didn’t?

Returning with the cup and a plate of non-spelled oatmeal bars—she’d need to get that chocolate milk when she drove Pansy to school—she found him in the middle of the room, facing away from her. “Don’t you want to sit down?” Hannah set the cookies on the coffee table and straightened.
Jerrin turned toward her and waved a hand toward the couch. “Where?”

In horror, she took in the furniture littered with skimpy lingerie. “Give me a minute.” She gathered the offending garments and took them into her bedroom, tossing them in a corner and pausing a moment to let the heat in her cheeks die down from a raging furnace. She considered changing clothes, not to one of the nighties—because her humiliation had killed any plans of seduction she’d held—but maybe to sweats. Deciding to brave it out, she smoothed her many-times-washed, comforting flannel and glided back into the living room.

Jerrin sat on the couch, arms stretched over the back. “Lingerie party?”

Her cheeks flooded with heat again. “Gag gifts from friends, I, uh…needed to put them away.”

Here is the recipe:

Italian Raspberry Torte

1 1/4 c all purpose flour

1/2 tsp baking soda

1/2 tsp. baking powder

1/4 tsp. salt

2/3 c sugar

3/4 dairy sour cream

1/2 c melted butter

2 eggs

1/2 tsp vanilla

1/2 tsp almond extract

1 8 oz pkg cream cheese, softened

1/4 sugar

2 c raspberries

Fresh mint sprigs (optional)

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.  Grease a 9" spring form pan: set aside.  Combine flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt; set aside.  In a large mixing bowl combine the 2/3 cup sugar, 1/2 cup of the sour cream, melted butter, eggs, vanilla and 1/4 tsp of almond extract with an electric mixer until combined.  Add flour mixture to sugar mixture; beat until combined.  Pour batter into prepared pan.  Bake for 15 minutes.  Remove partially baked cake from oven and place on wire rack.

In a bowl beat cream cheese and the 1/4 cup of sugar with an electric mixer until smooth.  Beat in remaining 1/4 cup of sour cream and 1/4 tsp of almond extract.  Spoon cream cheese mixture over top of partially baked cake, spread mixture carefully to edges.  Return cake to oven.  Bake 20-25 minutes or until top is set and edges are brown.  Place cake on wire rack.  Mound berries on cake, pressing some of the berries gently into cake top.  Cool 10 minutes.  Loosen sides of cake from pan.  Cool 30 minutes more.  Remove sides of pan.  Cool completely; serve chilled.  Add mint sprigs, if desired.  Makes 12-16 servings.

Makin' Cookies

by Stephanie Beck

I'm known among my friends as the one who bakes and sews and knits, and generally does all the putsy stuff that some people enjoy. I admit it, I am 'some' people. I love that kind of thing. If I can bake cookies, knit a scarf, and have soup in the crockpot, by noon, the day has been well started.

So, writing a blog about baking should be easy...I had the best of intentions. I was going to get up early this morning, brown butter so it would cool, and make some delicious brown butter chocolate chip cookies with step by step pictures and instructions.

Yeah. Didn't happen.

HOWEVER. I did make scones. Sure, they were from a box. Sure I pulled them out of the freezer, tossed them on a baking sheet, and put them in the oven before the oven preheated--they still turned out amazing.

Photo: Mmmm. Scones.

See? Beautiful raspberry and white chocolate scones courtesy of my excellent Schwann's Man, Sam.

I think Milly from my Cookie Club story would appreciate them. She's the kind of woman who can pull out the real baking when required, but isn't afraid of an Oreo.

Undersea Sweets
Milly Mystic is starting again. For a decade she was a trophy wife to a powerful wizard, and now that he's dead, she's reinventing herself. Who is the real Milly? The nice witch who sends cookies to her best pals? The carefree jet-setter? The only person she knows how to be now is the loaner sitting on her houseboat floating on Lake Superior. But maybe that's as close to the real Milly she's ever been. A fantastic opportunity is about to come her way, and one thing Milly has never been is afraid to try something new.

Prince Baldwin loves being a merman. He travels the world, eats lots of fish, and on occasion catches glimpses of the beautiful humans who intrigue him so much. When a mer-angel lands in his lap, Baldwin does the only thing he can think to do--kiss her. But catching Milly and keeping her are two entirely different things.

All the best,
(and I promise I will post the other recipe soon)
